    Dear Sharon Center UMC family,

I want to communicate a couple of things quickly. First, if you need anything at all please contact the office or myself.  Next, I’d like to ask you to please go to our YouTube page and hit the “subscribe” button.  We gain access to more tools for this resource if we have 100 or more subscribers.  It doesn’t cost anything and it would really help us, whether or not you actually use it. I do encourage you to use this resource – we have two Worship services on our channel for you to view right now.  While we are all staying at home we will have a service on YouTube each week at 10:30 AM on Sunday for you to have your own service whenever you’d like. We may continue this once we all are together again depending on the need and our ability.

Attached to this email is a Lenten Devotional about walking. One of our members, Evan Lautenschleger, will be creating a prayer Labyrinth in the back of our property in the Spring sometime.  We are so fortunate to have this resource and I thought you might enjoy using the finger Labyrinth that is part of this devotional to prepare for one in real life!  Walking is a spiritual discipline that can bring us closer to Christ when we put our thoughts on Him. We can use our finger to do the same thing.

Our Friday email “Weekly Revelation” will include more information.  If you know someone who needs to receive our emails please let me know and we can add them.  Press on my friends!  God’s got this.

    Walking by Faith,

    Pastor Jane Piehl

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

In response to the recommendations made by the Governor and others in authority, Sharon Center United Methodist Church will not be meeting together physically but will instead be meeting “virtually” for a few weeks or until we receive word that it is safe again to gather together. This is new territory for all of us so we ask for your grace and mercy as we will be trying new things in an attempt to stay connected to one another and Jesus Christ.

I do not have answers, but I can tell you that we had our first Facebook Live last Sunday. We are trying out a Facebook live prayer time too. We will be doing some videos and posting them to our webpage, and we might even have our own YouTube channel soon. Every Friday we will be sending out a “Weekly Revelation” that will update you with what we know at that moment. We’ll post those to the webpage too.

Our building is now closed. We have sent an email to all groups asking them to not use the building. If you have a question please contact me. When the restrictions are lifted we will open again.

For now, continue to pray, asking God for strength and comfort for those who have the virus and those that care for them.  Read the Friday Weekly Revelation, check the website and Facebook page. Contact others in our community and make sure they are cared for, especially those who are most vulnerable.

God most certainly has our attention right now. Nothing happens that hasn’t been filtered through his fingers.  Let’s use this time to thank him for all he has done for us!

    Walking by Faith,
    Pastor Jane Piehl
